Rim Marching Scots
The Rim Marching Scots is a high-spirited marching band that performs at all home football games and at various competitive parades in Southern California in the fall semester only. This program has a heavy emphasis on music variety, community exposure, and physical stamina and coordination. Students in this program also participate in the other music programs. In addition, participation in marching band is like a “family” to which all band students can belong. It is a place where they learn values and standards, where they can learn to depend on one another in their pursuit of excellence. They learn about responsibility, doing their fair share, and sticking to a common goal. They learn to value people, respect their peers and not make judgments on the superficial. Alumni of this program say they acquired a stronger base for their adult life through participating in this program.
